Cheltenham Ranked 2nd Best Place to Live in England

According to data analysed by The Sunday Times during 2024, Cheltenham reclaimed its position amongst the Top 3 in a list of nearly 300 locations in England,   only pipped to the top spot by Richmond in Greater London.

Great schools, green spaces & good healthcare

With some very impressive statistics highlighted in the article, it’s no wonder Cheltenham ranked so highly. Proving itself to be a hub for fast, consistent and quality healthcare, the town is joint first for NHS waiting times, ranks in the top 15 for GP satisfaction, and is in the top 20 for meeting the NHS referral target of 18 weeks.

Families benefit from the outstanding schools at both primary and secondary level and the town ranks in the Top 30 for Progress 8, a measure of students' academic progress across their 8 best GCSE subjects.  Beyond that, the town ranks in the top 30 for Green Flag Awards, recognizing the beautiful, well-maintained parks and open spaces.

The average house price in Cheltenham is £342,000, putting it amongst the most affordable locations in The Sunday Times' top 10 list, and properties prices here rose last year. Offering excellent amenities, a vibrant community, and a high quality of life, the town continues to be a sought-after place to live.

This comes to no surprise to Oliver Davis, Branch Director of our Cheltenham office, which was recently voted best estate agent office in the UK by the ESTAS.

He says,

“The property market in both Cheltenham town and the surrounding villages is buoyant, with plenty of new instructions and excellent prices being achieved every day. The turn of the year has heightened motivation in buyers and sellers alike and 2025 looks set to be another busy year for local property”.
