You only have 15 weeks until the 1st of May, are you sure you're compliant with the latest landlord legislation?
1st May 2026 marks the date when the majority of the Renter's Rights Act will take effect. This means you need to know the new legislative changes before they become law. These changes include:
No more ‘no-fault’ evictions – in the private rented sector, a landlord won’t be able to evict tenants without a valid reason.
Goodbye to fixed contracts – tenancies in the private rented sector will be contracted to a rolling basis with no end date. Tenants will able to end them by giving two months’ notice.
Stricter rent rules – a landlord can only raise rent once a year and renters can challenge unfair hikes.
Further changes are coming later in 2026, however a date has not been decided yet.

Jodie, our Head of Property Management, and Michelle, one of our Senior Property Managers, attended a Renters’ Rights Act seminar this week. As a company, we are committed to training and development across all our teams. This ensures we're fully versed with the latest legislation and our landlords and their properties remain compliant at all times
"Julie has been extremely helpful throughout our time with The Property Centre, prompt to respond to issues as they arise and always polite and helpful. Thanks for making a stressful time a bit easier to manage!"
