Gloucester Cathedral is one of the UK’s most spectacular architectural treasures, seamlessly blending over 1,300 years of Christian heritage with vibrant modern culture

Located in the historic heart of the city, it features a magnificent fusion of imposing Norman columns and soaring Gothic Perpendicular design Famed for housing the world's oldest fan-vaulted cloisters, which stood in as Hogwarts corridors in multiple Harry Potter films. It is also the final resting place of a murdered monarch, King Edward II.

St Mary de Crypt Church, situated on Southgate Street in the heart of Gloucester, is a magnificent Grade I listed medieval church that was first recorded in 1140 as the Church of the Blessed Mary within Southgate.

Rebuilt extensively in the late 15th century in the early Perpendicular Gothic style, this historic landmark serves as a vibrant community and cultural hub known as Discover DeCrypt. It is deeply tied to pivotal historical figures, including the global evangelist George Whitefield and the pioneer of the Sunday School movement, Robert Raikes

Brunswick Baptist Church is a vibrant, multicultural city-centre church located on Southgate Street in Gloucester. Known for its welcoming, active evangelical community, it serves a diverse congregation with members from across Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, alongside robust neighborhood outreach programs

Abbey Church is an independent evangelical church that holds its main Sunday morning services at Heron Primary School. While Google says the church is open 9am to 6pm on Sunday, the Sunday service doesn't start until 10:30am.

Saint James' Church is a lively, historic Church of England parish church located on School Lane, Quedgeley, Gloucester (GL2 4PN). Serving both the Quedgeley and Kingsway communities, this beautiful building features a 12th-century font and elements dating back to 1210, later undergoing significant Victorian restoration.

Mosques in Gloucester:

The largest Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat جماعت اہل سنت Masjid in Gloucestershire, this mosque is open to throughout the year, The Mosque is run by Ghousia Islamic Community Centre and is a welcoming community for all faith groups. Opening hours change daily to reflect the adjusting prayer times, please visit their website to view the latest prayer times.

Masjid E Noor is a prominent, purpose-built Sunni mosque managed by the Gloucester Muslim Welfare Association (GMWA). Originally established in the early 1960s using hired halls, the Mosque was successfully unveiled in 1983 and became a landmark representing the emerging Muslim community.

The Jama Al-Karim Mosque (also known as Jamia Al-Karim) is a historic and active Sunni place of worship located on All Saints Road in Gloucester. Established by the local Muslim community through the Gloucestershire Islamic Trust, it represents a significant landmark as Gloucester's second mosque.
